BASED IN VIRGINIA BEACH, VA AND SERVING CLIENTS ACROSS VA, MD, & FL.

Individual Therapy for Divorce.

Telehealth therapy for anxiety, grief, and identity loss after separation or divorce.

Knowing divorce was the right decision doesn’t make it less painful.

You had to end it.

Staying in your marriage meant abandoning yourself, and you’re not willing to do that anymore.

You know there’s a future where you embrace your new life… But that future feels like light years away.

The fear paralyzes you. Being alone in your new houseooking for one, and wondering how you’ll fill the hours between after work and bedtime, You don’t know who you are on your own. You’re scared you won’t be able to cope. You just want to be ok.

The grief weighs on you. You didn’t just lose your relationship. You lost the future you imagined for yourself. Your dreams of a life filled with family vacations and holidays, caring for each other during illness, and growing old together are over.

The overthinking keeps you up at night. You replay the conversations that turned into arguments, and all the things you wish you had or hadn’t said. You wonder if you’d still be married if you and your spouse had addressed your issues sooner.

The guilt eats at you. You worry about how divorce will impact your kids. You never wanted them to come from a broken home. If you were impacted by your own parents’ divorce, you might be worried about putting your kids through what you went through.

Helping you navigate divorce and your new life.

Without the stress of your marriage, you have space to focus on yourself. You feel more energized. You cook your favorite meals, get back into old hobbies, and make new friends.

When you don’t have your kids, you miss them, but it’s less consuming. You enjoy the peace that comes with being alone.

You understand how patterns such as people pleasing, overfunctioning, and self abandoning eroded your marriage. When you start dating again, you notice when these parts of you appear.

You consciously choose to be authentic, setting boundaries with kindness. Being in relationships where you can be yourself and still be accepted feels liberating.

My goal is to help you make this vision a reality.

How it works.

We start by getting to know each other and discussing your goals for therapy. You might be coming in with something specific that we work on each week, like navigating the divorce process or coping with being alone. Or you might not have one clear goal in mind or feel so overwhelmed you don’t know where to start. Whatever brings you to therapy is welcome.

My approach draws on IFS and attachment theory. Working together, we might explore the parts of you that:

  • are afraid to be alone

  • wake you up at 3 am to analyze your marriage or panic about what to do next

  • are grieving your relationship or the life you planned

  • are concerned about impact on your kids

  • carry trauma from difficult or hurtful experiences in your marriage or other relationships

  • contributed to your marital troubles

I won’t shame you for your fear, anger, loneliness, or the ways you are coping. With me, nothing you’re bringing is too heavy or too much. Together, we make room for it all. We'll work together to unpack the grief, reduce your anxiety, learn to be ok being alone. You'll walk away feeling calmer, with a clearer sense of who you are and what you want in the next chapter of your life.

Therapy for Divorce can help you:

  • Become someone you trust to take care of your own life
  • Make room for relief and possibility alongside the grief
  • Stop letting every text from your ex ruin your afternoon
  • Parent from your values instead of from anger, guilt, or fear
  • Date again without repeating the relationship you just left

Learn who you are when you’re no longer part of a “we.”
